Quit Vaping Hypnotherapy

The short answer: hypnotherapy can help you quit vaping by working on the habits, triggers and cravings that keep you reaching for your vape. Sessions are in person in Yarrabilba, near Logan, or online anywhere in Australia, and can be used on their own or alongside support from your GP, pharmacist or Quitline.

Why Vaping Can Be Hard to Quit

Most vapes contain nicotine, so there’s a physical side to quitting. But for many people the harder part is the habit. A vape is always in your pocket, there’s no need to step outside, and it’s easy to take a puff without even noticing. Over time it gets linked to everyday moments: driving, scrolling your phone, work breaks, a drink with friends, or winding down at night.

Vaping is also often used to manage feelings like stress, boredom or anxiety. That’s why willpower alone can feel like it isn’t enough.

How Hypnotherapy for Vaping Works

We start by understanding your vaping: when you vape, what sets it off, what you’ve tried before and why you want to stop now. From there, sessions focus on:

  • Triggers and habits: recognising the moments you reach for your vape and building new responses to them.
  • Cravings: practising ways to ride out cravings when they show up.
  • Stress and emotions: finding other ways to handle the feelings vaping has been helping you cope with, using counselling as well as hypnotherapy.
  • Motivation: getting clear on your reasons for quitting and what life looks like vape-free.

Hypnotherapy uses a relaxed, focused state, and you stay aware and in control the whole time. If formal hypnosis doesn’t feel right for you, conversational hypnotherapy uses a gentler, talk-based approach.

Vaping and Smoking

Some people vape after quitting cigarettes, some do both, and some started vaping without ever smoking. We can work on either or both at once. If you also smoke, see quit smoking hypnosis.

Using Hypnotherapy Alongside Other Support

If you’re thinking about nicotine replacement or quit medication, talk to your GP or pharmacist. Queensland’s Quitline (13 78 48) also offers phone support for quitting smoking and vaping. Hypnotherapy can be used alongside any of these.
